  • Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recorded their third IPL win after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final on Sunday.

Shane Watson scored a magnificent century to grab the Man of the match in the all-important clash.

The Yellow Army returned from a two-year suspension, to defy all odds and clinch the trophy under captain MS Dhoni.

With CSK announcing their comeback in style, we take a look at some key stats from their title-winning campaign.

145 – The number of sixes hit by the Super Kings. Also the most by any team in IPL 2018. They went past Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) record of 142 sixes in the 2016 edition.

Again the same trio – Rayudu (602 runs at 149.75), Watson (555 at 154.59) and Dhoni (455 at 150.66). Also the first time a team has had three batsmen scoring more than 400 runs at a strike rate above 145 in an IPL season.

75.83 – Dhoni’s average in IPL this season – highest after 16 games.

16 – Number of wickets CSK’s top wicket-taker Shardul Thakur took.

1 – CSK were the only team to win against each of the other seven teams at least once.

4 – Number of times CSK defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad, first time a team has beaten an opposition four times in an IPL season.
