Lahore Qalandars pace sensation Salman Irshad picked up a wicket off the very first ball he bowled in the Pakistan Super League in Sharjah on Friday.
Irshad picked up the wicket of Islamabad United captain Misbah-ul-Haq off his first ball, getting the icon caught behind.
Labelled by former Pakistan quick and Lahore mentor Shoaib Akhtar as the next 100mph bowler, Irshad got the prized scalp of Islamabad United captain after getting the batsman to poke at a full delivery behind to the keeper.
Irshad was spotted during a talent hunt conducted by the Qalandars last year in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Former Pakistan fast bowler and Qalandars director of cricket operations Aaqib Javed was immediately impressed by what he saw and said Irshad had the potential to represent Pakistan at the highest level.
Akhtar later said during an interview on Pakistan’s GEO News: “He is bowling at 92 miles an hour now. He can go up to 97. And if he puts his heart in, can break the 100 miles per hour barrier. I want to train Salman Irshad myself.”
