Lancashire’s stay, which will see them in action against the UAE national side and rivals Yorkshire, and marks the start of a four-year partnership with the ICC Academy, which will see the Red Rose make Dubai their pre-season home.

Lancashire’s Cricket Director and Head Coach Ashley Giles said: “After a solid winter of work at Emirates Old Trafford, getting outside in good conditions is great preparation for the domestic campaign.

“We’ll be playing against our Pennine rivals and County Champions in what will be a great test for us. The lads will be looking forward to it and it will be good to see some of our supporters over there cheering the lads on.”

“Playing over in the UAE is a great way to prepare for the cricket season and the lads are certainly looking forward to taking part in the Emirates T20 competition,” added captain Steven Croft.

“Yorkshire will be a tough proposition out there but as defending NatWest T20 Blast champions we’ll be aiming to give them a really good game.

“If we can replicate the same kind of form and skills that served us so well last year, then the fans out there in Dubai will hopefully be in for a treat.”

The Emirates Airline Twenty20 will feature defending champions Yorkshire CCC, the MCC, NatwestT20 Blast Champions Lancashire and the UAE National Team.

The MCC’s team includes Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara, Ian Bell and Samit Patel. Tickets for the tournament, including hospitality brunch, can be purchased at www.Emiratest20.com/tickets.
