  • Rapid Rohan: He hit 145 from 62 balls.

UAE national player Rohan Mustafa’s superb century guided Chargers Cricket Club to a massive 106-run victory over Welkin Warriors and into the semi-finals of the inaugural UAQ Night T20 Premier League.

Chargers won the toss and opted to bat first in the quarter-final match, and the Warriors were never in the game once Mustafa went on a rampage. The southpaw blasted 12 boundaries and nine sixes during his stay as he powered to a brilliant 145 from just 62 deliveries.

Qasim Butt gave Mustafa company with a 25-ball 40, while Farhan Babar (21) and Saqlain Mohammed (23 not out) chipped in with useful contributions as Chargers scored a massive 257 for four in 20 overs.

Chasing the imposing target, Warriors opener Faizan Asif gave his side a good start with a 12-ball 26, but they kept losing wickets after that. Kashif Dawood picked up four wickets, while Mustafa did his bit with the ball as well, scalping three wickets.

It was left to No. 8 Fayyaz Ahmed to provide some rearguard action with a 31-ball 45, but all hope was lost by then.

Waqas Jutt and Mozamel Rizwan scored 15 and 19 not out respectively as Warriors ended their 20 overs on 151 for nine.

Mustafa was the obvious choice for the Man of the Match award. The tournament is organised by the Umm Al Quwain Cricket Club and held under the supervision of the Emirates Cricket Board.
