  • Arms wide open: ADAC celebrate their soaring success.

Mohammad Shahzad and Sadaqat Shah’s all-round show helped Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC) beat Nissan Masaood by two wickets and lift the Durham T20 trophy.

Winning the toss and electing to bat in Al Ain, Nissan got off to a good start as Sajith Kumara (16) and Inam Fareed (27), put on an opening stand of 39. ADAC got the breakthrough thanks to Mohammed Bilal, who bowled Fareed in the fourth over.

Nissan then lost two more wickets in quick succession. Shah removed Jamshed Butt (15) and later sent Kumara back to the pavilion as Nissan were struggling for 63-3 in the seventh over.

That proved to be Shah’s last scalp but Shahzad showed his bowling abilities to rattle Nissan’s lowerorder batting line-up.

Naveed Khadim (9), Atif Ahmed (1) and Khurram Hameed (2) all fell to the off-spinner, who finished with figures of 3-15. Mohammad Usman (31) continued to frustrate ADAC as Nissan reached 114-9 in their 20 overs.

ADAC did not have the best of starts with the scoreboard reading 28-2 after five overs. But Shah showed he can be dangerous with the bat with a valuable 27-run knock.

There were also contributions from Wiaz (21), Mohammad Majid (21) and Bilal (25) as Shahzad (7no) and Faisal Fayaz, saw them home with six balls to spare.
