Legends Cricket Club emerged champions of the inaugural Arabian Super League T20 when they secured a comfortable five-wicket victory over Armaf Sterling Parfums in the final played at the Durham Cricket Ground in Ajman.

Armaf Sterling won the toss and opted to bat first, getting off to a good start with opener Bilal Khalid remaining unbeaten in the end on 62 in 45 balls.

He was well supported by Thariq Aman (22) and Salman Randhawa (16) and some good pinch hitting at the death by Waheed Ahmed (15 in six balls) and Shafakath Ali (10 not out in three balls) helped Armaf reach a competitive total of 158 for seven.

Sajjad Malok was the most successful bowler for Legends, taking 2-18 in his four overs.

Legends lost opener Shehzad Ahmed for just seven runs early, but Waseem Rana (36 in 17 balls) and Saqib Azeem put together 50 runs for the second wicket before both departed in quick succession.

However, a 74-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Muhamadullah Khan (43 in 29 balls) and Vishnu Vijay (41 not out in 34 balls) took Legends safely to the target 19.1 overs.

Former Pakistan cricketer Hasan Raza was on hand to give away the trophies.
