  • Blossoming: Red Flower Tourism team is all smiles after their semi-final win.

In the first semi-final, Salman Randhawa’s unbeaten half-century proved to be the difference as Tourism defeated Dubai Hawks by six wickets.

The batsman was on fire with the bat, smashing 10 sixes including five in an over and three boundaries in his 84-run knock from just 27 deliveries as Tourism successfully chased 203.

His runs were crucial as Hawks had initially gained the upper hand with Tourism at 106-4. But needing a further 97 runs in less than nine overs, Randhawa and Rinku Kumar (28no) took charge and saw their team home in 17 overs.

Earlier, batting first, UAE international Shaiman Anwar and Shahzad Malik scored fifties as Hawks set an imposing total in their 20 overs.

Veteran Anwar was at his best at the crease with a fine 42-ball 71 that included five boundaries and four maximums, while Malik scored 69 from 37 deliveries. The team’s total was boosted with contributions from Fahad Tariq (16), Bilal Irshad (14) and Ahmed Shoukat (23).

There was also another half-century in the other semi-final as Abdul Shakoor hit an unbeaten half-century as Multiplex defeated UBL by three wickets.

UBL made a decent start with Syed Maqsood scoring 47 (five fours and three sixes). But once he was dismissed, UBL lost quick wickets. Mohammad Boota revived the innings with a 36-ball 67, while UAE international Mohammad Naveed hit 27 as UBL reached 186-6.

Multiplex got off to a terrible start in their chase with Sapandeep Singh out for duck. Runs from Haroon Ahmed (11), Ali Zeeshan (13), Aklaq Butt (12) and Mohammad Yasir (29) kept the scoreboard ticking.

But it was Shakoor who eventually took the game away with a superb 42-ball 86 (seven sixes and three fours), while Zeeshan Khan (19) and Abdul Haq (12) ensured Multiplex achieved the target with three balls to spare.
