  • Former champions: Al Masa IT Distribution won the tournament in 2012.

Registrations for the annual Dulsco Ramadan Floodlight Open tournament will close on May 31, with the competition to be held from June 23.

Entry fees for teams is Dh5,000, which includes coloured kits and refreshments.

A total of 16 teams will compete in the 13th edition, to be played at Zabeel Park in Dubai, to be played in a league and knockout format.

Besides trophies and medals for the winners and runners-up, the organisers have lined up various individual awards, including best player, batsman and bowler of the tournament.

Dulsco has provided the side screens at Zabeel Park and also maintains the area around the pitch to ensure all matches are played under ideal conditions.

Johnson Alexander, director of HR and QHSE at Dulsco, said: “The Dulsco tournament was earlier held at the DCC ground for five years.

“When the area around the DCC ground was developed for government projects, there was a shortage of cricket grounds to play in Dubai.

"However, in association with Dubai Municipality, Dulsco then began holding the tournament at Zabeel Park with the support of the Dubai Cricket Council (DCC) for the last seven years. And 2014 will be the eighth year of the tournament that will be played at the venue.”

For more details of the competition, interested teams can contact Farook Siddique, a member of DCC, on 055 897 9580 or  Shaik Rafik, assistant manager of Sports and Welfare on 050 650 7389 or email [email protected].

The draw will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at Dulsco’s Head Office in Al Quoz, at 16:00.
