Half-centuries from Shahzad Manna and Swapnil Salui inspired Yogi Group to an eight-wicket win over Interface Transworld in the Aseel Islamic Finance 26th Sharjah Ramadan Cup.
Chasing 139, Yogi Group were in full control and comfortably reached the target scoring 140 runs.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Interface Transworld made a poor start losing two wickets with just 19 runs on the scoreboard.
The quick wickets didn’t deter Farhan Baber as he kept the scoreboard ticking for Interface.
He smashed a 32-ball 34, reaching the boundary four times.
But it was Salman Baber who stole the limelight with a blistering 46 coming off just 19 balls, peppered with three boundaries and four sixes.
Interface Transworld’s batsmen continued to pile more runs and when their 20 overs were finished, Jagrit Anand was unbeaten on 21 from 24 deliveries.
In reply, Yogi openers Manna and Salui made a rousing start sharing 98 runs for the opening wicket as they completely took the match away from Interface.
Salui’s 34-ball 50 consisted of four boundaries and two sixes, while Manna was a tad slower.
He took 44 balls to score a steady 57 that saw him find the fence on four occasions and thrice over it.
Meanwhile, Cricket Maxway produced a fine bowling display to earn a eight-wicket victory over Jumeirah Group and keep pace with the leaders in the 13th Dulsco Ramadan Cricket Tournament at the Zabeel Park Cricket Ground, Dubai.
Jumeirah Group were bowled out for 83 in 17.3 overs and Cricket Maxway knocked off the target in 13.2 overs for the loss of two wickets to earn their second successive win in the tournament.
