Danube Tigers added another feather to their cap by winning the Ramadan Cup, which was played at United Pro Sports Club in Dubai.
Danube Tigers beat Al Futtaim by 23 runs and got back to winning ways in indoor cricket.
The Tigers batted first after winning the toss and scored 46 runs with all their batting pairs chipping in but none going on to make a decent score due to tight bowling and fielding by Al Futtaim in their allotted 16 overs.
But backed by some good bowling and brilliant fielding, Danube restricted Al Futtaim to 23 runs in their allotted 16 overs.
After winning the title, Anis Sajan, managing director and owner of Danube Tigers, said: “We had a disappointing outing at Insportz Club last week as the senior team had come away as plate winners for the first time in 12 years.
“But this victory has once again proved that we are the undisputed kings of indoor cricket.”
Danube Lions, the senior team, haved won six indoor titles this year – two at Insportz Club, three at the ICC Indoor Academy and one at United Pro Sports Club.
Danube Tigers, which is the junior team, have won three titles this year, ample proof that both teams currently dominate the indoor cricket format.
The Danube outdoor team has also done very well in the last season by winning the prestigious Bukhatir League 50-over trophy.
The outdoor team is now preparing to play in the final of the Al Hamad Cup in Abu Dhabi, scheduled to take place on September 5 next month.
