Ronak Panoly gives GEMS Modern Academy a strong start to the boys under-13 Maxtalent Global Sports Vision Cup with a 43 ball century.
Panoly’s effort of 102 gave his team a 146-run victory over St.Mary’s Catholic High School Dubai in group B.
Shivam Ghosh supported Panoly scored before he was retired hurt on 35. Varun Nayanar then took the field with a quick fire 29 off 15 balls.
St. Mary’s Catholic High School clearly buckled under the pressure of chasing 231, finishing all out for 89. Dishan showed heart against the strong spin line up of GMA with a commendable 39 runs.
Hayden Dsouza was the pick of the bowlers for GMA as he bagged three wickets for 17 runs along with 2 wickets each from Ronak Panoly, Varun Ravi and Shivam Ghosh. Panoly was unanimously declared the MSG Player of the Match for the swashbuckling 103 while Dsouza and Dishan won the Promising Player award.
Elsewhere, the Indian High School Dubai made a strong statement in group C with a 162-run victory over Leader Private School Sharjah.
Skipper VVV Ramprajwal’s 63 runs were trumped by his opening partner Kushal Chiluka, who smashed 68 runs of 41 deliveries. Gaurang Agarwal made a quick-fire 21 off 15 balls. LPSS’ Eashan Agarwals was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets for 35.
With 215 to chase LPSS batsmen could not find a settled partnership with Sri Vignesh picking up four wickets for just seven runs. Agarwals made 15 runs with the bat to scoop the MSG Promising Player award while VVV Ramprajwal received the award for the IHS team . Kushal Chiluka won the player of the match award for his 68 runs.
