  • The victorious Hologram team.

Kamran Hussain grabbed the spotlight as Hologram Players started their campaign in style by handing hosts Dulsco a 70- run defeat in the opener of the 14th Dulsco Ramadan tournament.

Batting first at Zabeel Park, Hussain hit 57 runs off just 28 balls as Hologram posted 158-9, before taking four wickets to skittle out the hosts for 88.

Hologram Players’ decision to to bat first after winning the toss was fully justified by their openers Vishnu KS and Shani Alam.

They raced to a quick 47 before Vishnu (14) was dismissed. His wicket set the tone for the Dulsco bowlers’ as Hassan Saood, Sajjad Ali and Rizwan Sadiq all claiming scalps.

However, any hopes of keeping the Hologram Players’ innings under control were crushed by Hussain as he scored runs at an amazing pace. Chasing, Dulsco had no answer to Hologram Players’ bowling as Hussain and Gopa Kumar were in top form.

Their top batsmen – Sajjad Khalil, Waqar Baig and Shabaz Mohammed – were all dismissed for ducks.

Struggling to score runs, Zeeshan Abbas showed his potential by hitting three maximums and a boundary in his 30-run knock, but it was too little too late.
