Maxtalent Global Sports boys excel during tour of England

    It was a tour to remember for a number of Maxtalent Global Sports cricketers as they put on a good show during their recent trip to England.

    The Dubai-based Maxtalent Global Sports played a total of 11 matches with their Under-13 and Under-16 teams testing themselves against Stoke D’Abernon, Reeds School, Old Whitgiftians Cricket Club, Cobam and Parkside School.

    With the emphasis of learning the longer version of the game, the youngsters played 35-over matches in the Under-16s, while the Under-13 matches were contested in the 25-overs-a-side event.

    Among the individuals to imp-ress was Under-16 captain Karan Menon, who excelled in all departments of the game. Menon scored a total of 137 runs and took seven wickets in the five games he played.

    Raunak Pandey was too hot to handle for the batsmen as the left-arm spinner took 15 wickets in his six games to claim the Most Outstanding Player of the Tour award in the Under-13 category.

    In the batting department, Under-13 captain Chris Sequeira put on some exceptional performances, hitting 87 runs in five matches, to pick up the Best Batsman of the Tour award, while Macneil Noronha claimed the accolade in the Under-16 category.

    Gaurang Agrawal, the pick of the bowlers with seven wickets in just three matches, earned himself the Best Bowler of the Tour award in the Under-16 category, while off spinner Jatin Vemuganti topped the Under-13s group.

    Sairam Mohan and Suraj Nuresh’s batting and bowling performances didn’t go unnoticed with the pair claiming the Promising and Young Player of the Tour awards.
