UAE-based journalists swapped the desks for the cricket field as Armchair Boys came out on top against DCC 40s Club in a one-off exhibition match in Dubai.

Having covered various sporting events in the country, Armchair Boys, made up of players from leading media publications in the UAE, were given a chance to let the bat and ball do the talking against the Dubai Cricket Council outfit.

And they did not disappoint, prevailing by 38 runs at The Sevens Cricket Ground. Armchair Boys posted a competitive target of 154-5 in their 20 overs. Chasing, DCC fell short, reaching 116-8.

Despite Sport360's very own Joy Chakravarty being run-out for eight, Armchair Boys reached 59-3 thanks to the efforts of AK Satish and Arshad Abubaker, who both scored 19 runs.

After their dismissal, Gopal Jasapara upped the ante, scoring four boundaries in his 33-ball 47 before being removed by CTK Nasir.

After Shyam Krishna (21) was trapped lbw by Shiva Pagarani, Jaiprasad Rai (21) and Ahmed Rizvi (5) saw the media outfit cross the 150-mark.

With a challenging target, DCC did not get off to a good start with Sidhwa out for one.

Jasapara then showed his potential with the ball, removing Nasir (12), while Rai claimed two wickets.
