    1)  RAHEEM STERLING (Man City) – 8.43

Stories have surfaced this week about how Raheem Sterling could have been great under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but the striker will not be too concerned while he is in such devastating form in Manchester. Sterling scored a hat-trick as City thrashed Bournemouth to remain top of the Premier League. Enough said.

    2) JAMIE VARDY (Leicester City) – 8.11

Jamie Vardy’s double as Leicester came from 2-0 down to draw at Southampton underlined the Englishman’s credentials as a serious contender for the golden boot award. The striker cut his teeth in in the lower divisions of English football just does not give up.

    3) GEORGINIO WIJNALDUM (Newcastle United) – 8.11

Footall is a funny game and just when fans of the Toon were about to give up on their team completely, Georginio Wijnaldum steps up to show why the club paid record money for him. The Dutchman’s four goals consisted of a well-taken first, two headers and a superb long-range fourth and if the midfielder continues in this form, Newcastle may break into the top 10 yet.

    4) WILFRIED BONY (Man City) – 7.95

Many City fans were worried about their fire power up front with Sergio Aguero ruled out for a month. But Bony’s first goals of the season will also give the team confidence that there is life after the Argentinian. The Ivory Coast striker doubled his Man City tally since his £28m move from Swansea last January.

    5) NICOLAS OTAMENDI (Man City) – 7.85
While City’s attack have scored goals for fun this season, the defence has found clean sheets harder to come by. However Nicolas Otamendi is proving an all-action addition to the squad and is combining well with Eliaquim Mangala to produce a solid defensive partnership that will need to be at their best in the Champions League.
