  • Sally after the impressive win.

Owner and breeder Khalid Khalifa Al Nabooda tasted success in the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s Wathba Stud Farm Cup race held in Abu Dhabi.

The prominent Emirati ownerbreeder’s impressive AF Al Sally won for the second time this season, landing the night’s edition of the Al Wathba Stud Farm Cup (1200m).

Trained at Oasis Stables in Dubai by Musabah Al Muhairi and ridden by stable jockey Fernando Jara, the five-year-old settled in midfield before looming up dangerously entering the straight.

Jara did not need to get too serious to send him to the front before powering home to win decisively.

“He is a nice horse,” said Jara. “Iwas always pretty happy during the race and he won nicely. He has not had much racing and can hopefully continue improving.”

During the evening, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak acknowledged the tremendous efforts of Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival.

HH Sheikha Fatima honoured Sawaya for her active role in promoting equestrian and women sport and contributing to success of all events at the global level.

The HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival is sustained by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and coordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with National Feed and Flour Production as associate sponsors.
