World Cup stars to land in Qatar for annual Bayern Munich winter training camp

  • Bayern Munich will train in Doha for six days with many fans expected to attend to see some of the world's best players in action.

    Volkswagen Middle East are to host FC Bayern Munich at the team’s annual training camp in Doha from 9 to 17 January, with six members of the World Cup-winning team in attendance.

    In partnership with Qatar Football Association, the supporting partner of Volkswagen for the past 4 years, the Bayern Munich team – including Mario Goetze, return to Qatar for their fifth annual training camp, held at Qatar’s Aspire Academy, a globally recognised national sports academy.

    Other members of the World Cup-winning team taking part in the training camp include Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Mueller. Star-men Arjen Robben (Netherlands) and Dante (Brazil) will also be in attendance..

    Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Executive Board Chairman, FC Bayern Munich said: “The Doha training ground provides the team with the very best training conditions for the winter months, along with excellent sports facilities.

    During their stay in Qatar, the team will also take part in a friendly match against the Qatar Stars Team on Tuesday, 13 January at 20:00.
