  • The Champions League Top Five of the Week: Chosen by the fans.

Each week, Sport360 brings you the best five players from the Champions League, as chosen by you the supporters through our ValoraFutbol fan ratings tool

So who makes up this week’s top five?

    1) ANGEL DI MARIA (Paris Saint-Germain) – 8.25

Di Maria was described by captain Thiago Silva as ‘unstoppable’ after PSG’s 2-0 win over Malmo it is difficult to argue with the Brazilian’s assessmentThe former Real Madrid and Manchester United man scored his side’s opening goal while his darting runs and clever deliveries from the right were a constant threat.

    2) CRISTIANO RONALDO (Real Madrid) – 8.19

A second-half hat-trick from the Portugese settled Real’s 4-0 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk in emphatic style. The striker is back to his best and not only scored with his feet and his head, but a perfect pass for Benzema proved that he can be provider as well.

    3) MAICON PEREIRA (Porto) – 7.89

Despite an early booking, Maicon was a thorn in Dynamo Kiev’s side and the hosts would almost certainly have won had Maicon not snuffed out attacks relentlessly for visiting Porto. However the defender’s real value to the team comes in his ability to join the attack and supply quality through-balls as he did for Layun on several occasions.

    4) GIANLUIGI BUFFON (Juventus) – 7.79

The Italian legend rolled back the years to produce one of his finest performances in a Juventus jersey. The goalkeeper motivated a side struggling for form with a string of saves that laid the foundation for an unexpected away win.

    5) ANTOINE GRIEZMANN (Atletico Madrid) – 7.73

Antoine Griezmann wins a place in the top five after scoring two goals in the opening 25 minutes, helping Atletico to victory at Galatasary. The Frenchman had scored just two goals in 15 previous games in Europe and his return to form will be vital for Atletico’s progress in the tournament.
