    1) AROUNA KONE (EVERTON) – 7.71

Everton’s almost forgotten man has bounced back from a career-threatening knee injury in style this season – and his powerful hat-trick against Sunderland proved the Ivory Coast hitman is close to the form which made Roberto Martinez sign him for both Wigan and Everton. Kone, 31, battered his way through the Black Cats defence to score three times on only his 35th appearance for the Goodison Park club in two years – which also triggered a new 12-month extension to his existing contract on Merseyside.

    2) ROMELU LUKAKU (EVERTON) – 7.26

The remergence of Arouna Kone has certainly helped Everton and indeed Belgian Romelu Lukaku. Kone’s goalscoring contribution this season has eased the burden on Everton’s chief goal-getter, who himself netted a terrific solo goal against Sunderland and laid on a beauty for Kone with an immaculate pass with the outside of his left boot. The 22-year-old has scored six Premier League goals already this season, a significant start to surpass the 10 he hit in the previous campaign.

    3) PHILIPPE COUTINHO (LIVERPOOL) – 7.23

The Brazilian may not have quite hit the heights of last season yet for the Kop club but his man of the match performance in Jurgen Klopp side’s victory at Chelsea proved he is Liverpool’s key man. Countinho, 23, scored twice in a game for the first time for the club and his master touch, an unstoppable drive on the stroke of half-time, piled more agony on Jose Mourinho. The playmaker’s brace was also the first time he had hit the target since the opening day of the season. Klopp has seemed to give Coutinho a license to flourish in the attacking third and the schemer has repaid his new manager.

    4) ODION IGHALO (WATFORD) – 7.13

Odion Ighalo has certainly been one of the surprise striking packages in the Premier League this season. The Nigerian has scored seven goals this term and again delivered against West Ham, punishing Slaven Bilic’s side either side of the break with a clinical brace. Ighalo, 26, who joined the Hornets last year, is proving a real nuisance to opposition defences and has stuck a fearsome partnership with Troy Deeney, which at this stage, looks to be enough to keep Quique Flores’s men in the top flight.

    5) GERARD DEULOFEU (EVERTON) – 7.04

You feel as though the magician-like Spaniard is finally finding his feet in the Premier League and the 21-year-old is now making it hard for Roberto Martinez to go about life without him in the side. On Sunday, the La Masia graduate showed the Sunderland defence a clean pair of heels to pick up Arouna Kone’s through ball and show great composure in front of goal to open the scoring. Deulofeu also chipped in with a couple of assists but was guilty of a theatrical second-half dive, which resulted in a booking and proves he still has a lot to learn.
