  • Derby County striker Darren Bent gave Leicester City an early lead with a bizarre own goal in Friday’s FA Cup tie.

The former Tottenham man is thought to be so prolific in front of goal this season that he can’t help himself, even in front of his own.

Positioned on the goal-line, Bent wound up for an easy routine clearance but somehow managed to smash the ball into the side-netting to give Leicester the lead.

However, he did make amends with a goal at the right end later on with a glancing header.

Wes Morgan spared Leicester’s blushes as his late equaliser rescued a 2-2 draw against second tier Derby in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday.

Claudio Ranieri’s spluttering side were just four minutes away from an embarrassing exit at the hands of their local rivals when Foxes defender Morgan headed home to force a replay.
