  • While Lionel Messi has saved Barcelona time and time again this season with moments of magic, Neymar has been the best Barcelona player on the pitch in many games.

He hasn’t come up with the timely contributions that Messi always seems to produce in order to bail Barcelona out, which is why he has flown under the radar somewhat.

But, on Saturday, Neymar showed just why he’s thought of as the heir apparent to Messi’s Barcelona throne. The Brazilian, reputed to be among the game’s best dribblers, left the Celta Vigo defenders with twisted blood as they vainly struggled to keep up with him in a performance that set a new La Liga high for this season.

Neymar also chipped in with a wonderful goal as Barcelona romped to a 5-0 victory.

With Neymar and Messi both on top form and Barcelona suddenly high on confidence, the impossible task of overturning a 4-0 deficit to Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday seems little less impossible now.

Can Neymar lead Barcelona to one of the Champions League’s greatest-ever victories?
