Borussia Dortmund Marc Bartra has undergone a successful surgery on the broken wrist he suffered when the team bus was hit by an explosion on Tuesday before the Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Monaco.
Bartra is expected to miss several weeks, with no precise timetable for his return.
Fortunately, despite the nature of the incident, Bartra’s injuries were not deemed severe, and no other player was badly injured.
Messages of support rolled in for the Spanish defender, and the Dortmund fans sang his name ahead of Wednesday night’s match.
