    WHAT THE PAPERS SAY

    Neymar to Manchester United?

NEYMAR has told friends he believes Manchester United are prepared to buy out his £170million Barcelona contract, reports the Daily Record. United have been closely linked with the Brazil international for some time and apparently they have ‘promised’ to meet his wage demands.

Neymar’s possible arrival at United could coincide with MICHAEL CARRICK’s exit, with the veteran midfielder out of contract in the summer. The Sun has linked the England man with a move to Premier League newcomers Newcastle, with the 35-year-old said to be having a house built in his native north east.

    RATING: 1/10

SPORT360 VERDICT: Jose Mourinho has dismissed claims that the club are plotting a move for Neymar, and with the Brazilian only signing a new five-year deal last October, it looks unlikely he will leave the Camp Nou any time soon.

    Marchisio on Chelsea’s radar

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is looking to his homeland for summer recruits and Juventus midfielder CLAUDIO MARCHISIO is on  his radar, according to the Sun. Chelsea are said to have had a first bid of £17million for the Italy international rejected but are hopeful a deal can be struck.

    RATING: 4/10

SPORT360 VERDICT: Although Chelsea have shown interest in the 31-year-old, it is unlikely they will spend the required £25 million to lure him away from Turin. Already well served with influential central midfielders like N’Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas, Conte should look to use the money to strengthen other areas of his team.

    City confident of signing Walker

Manchester City, meanwhile, are also confident they can persuade Tottenham to sell full-back KYLE WALKER, the Daily Telegraph say. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would reportedly push the England man to move overseas if manager Mauricio Pochettino sanctions a sale.

Tottenham are also bracing themselves for a big-money bid from Manchester United for midfielder ERIC DIER, according to the Telegraph, while Ross Barkley, Wilfried Zaha, Michael Keane and Harry Maguire are among possible new arrivals at White Hart Lane.

    RATING: 7/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT:
One player who could potentially depart North London this summer is Walker. The right back is said to have been frustrated at his omission from the starting line during the 4-2 defeat against Chelsea last weekend, and will decide on his future next month.

The 26-year-old only signed a new contract in September, but a big money offer from Manchester City could tempt Daniel Levy to sell.
