  • Fresh start: Louis van Gaal (l) is ushering in a new era at Old Trafford following the dismal reign of David Moyes.

The only official Manchester United supporters club in the UAE (MUSC UAE) is welcoming members ahead of the new Premier League season as it enters its tenth year in existence.

Officially recognised by the club since 2012, MUSC UAE has two homes in Dubai – Harvesters at Crowne Plaza on Sheikh Zayed Road and Nara Cafe which caters for those fans under 21 who want to watch games alongside fellow United fans.

With over 70 members currently within the group, club secretary Ziad Al Jamaan is looking to grow that figure and believes the benefits of being a member should make membership an attractive proposition for every Red Devil in the country.

“As members of MUSC UAE our members enjoy discounts at our venue partners on food, drinks and shisha,” Al Jamaan explained. “As an official supporters club we also get a get number of guaranteed match tickets for every home premier league game, which comes in handy as quite a few of our members head over to Old Trafford to watch the games.

“We also have regular raffle prize giveaways with prizes such as signed shirts and memorabilia by the team. We currently have a signed shirt to give away to members signing up before the 25th July.

“What we also look to do is encourage the sense of a community feel. We are looking at engaging all age groups in the upcoming season through a host of events that we have lined up.”

With a disappointing season under David Moyes behind them, Al Jamaan – like most United fans – is looking forward to a fresh start under Louis van Gaal.

“Van Gaal is certainly the talk of the town at the moment which is surprising in a way as he is such a high calibre manager that it really shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone of the quality and experience he will bring to our team,” Al Jamaan explained.

“Our chances this season will definitely be improved and with the two signings we have made already I am very optimistic we will finish in the top 4 and be back in Europe for the next season.”
