    THOMAS LEMAR

Arsenal have had a €35million bid for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar rejected by the Ligue 1 champions with Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea among the clubs vying for his signature.

According to L’Equipe, the Gunners were hopeful of sealing their second transfer of the summer but were rebuffed with north London rivals Tottenham also planning an offer of their own.

They face stiff competition from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, though, with Lemar’s agent looking to set up talks with prospective teams.

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Who Lemar signs for remains to be seen but what appears fairly certain is that he will join Bernardo Silva in leaving Monaco this summer.

Arsenal will apparently attempt to resurrect a move for the 21-year-old, but should they will switch their attentions to signing Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez.

    ALEXIS SANCHEZ

Manchester City are the clear frontrunners to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez with Bayern Munich dropping out of the race, according to the Daily Mirror.

Sanchez’s desire to play for Pep Guardiola again is said to be another significant boost in City’s chances of securing the Chile international with a £50million deal and a £300,000 a week contract to be offered.

    RATING: 8/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

It looks increasingly likely Sanchez will not renew his contract with Arsenal meaning he will leave on a free next summer.

While the Gunners will be reluctant to sell him, especially to a domestic rival, they could well have their hands forced with the 28-year-old keen to link up with Guardiola, the manager who brought him to Barcelona from Udinese in 2011.

    KOSTAS MANOLAS

Chelsea could be ready to hijack Zenit St Petersburg’s move for Roma’s Kostas Manolas with the the defender stalls on a move to Russia.

The Telegraph are reporting that Antonio Conte will send Nathan Ake to Bournemouth and will therefore compete to sign the £26million-rated Manolas who has not had his wage demands met by Zenit.

    RATING: 4/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

This smacks of agent talk and an agent trying to get a good deal for his player while leveraging potential interest from another club.

Chelsea have been linked with Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci and Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, both of whom are significantly stronger candidates.
