    REASONS TO BE POSITIVE

Clement revitalised the club in the second half of last season, helping re-establish some lost identity, and has now had a full summer get his ideas across.

    REASONS TO BE PESSIMISTIC

Gylfi Sigurdsson’s departure for Everton appears inevitable and with nine goals and 13 assists last term, it is tantamount to ripping the heart out of Swansea’s team.

    ONE TO WATCH

Tammy Abraham. The Chelsea loanee was lethal in the Championship with Bristol City last season. Can he make the step up?

    EXPECTATION

Though Clement steadied the ship when all looked lost last season, avoiding relegation again is the No1 target in south Wales.

    REALITY

The Swans need to reinvest the incoming Sigurdsson money wisely and very quickly, or another Great Escape will be required.
