    EDEN HAZARD

Manchester City will attempt land Chelsea star Eden Hazard after backing away from signing Arsenal’s wantaway attacker Alexis Sanchez.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, City have grown tired of Arsenal’s unwillingness to sell the Chilean and have instead switched their attentions to Hazard in an attempt to boost their firepower.

    SPORT360 VERDICT

While Chelsea sold Nemanja Matic to a direct title rival in Manchester United, it’s highly improbable they will do the same with City, especially with their most important asset.

It seems this rumour is a tactic in putting pressure on Arsenal to talk over Sanchez because with Antonio Conte already frustrated by the champion’s lack of transfer business, it would surely push him out the door by selling the Belgian.

    ALEX SANDRO

Chelsea are still in the hunt for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro but the Evening Standard are reporting he must hand in a transfer request to help force through the move to Stamford Bridge.

The Premier League champions have already had a £61million bid rejected earlier this summer but Antonio Conte is refusing to give up on the pursuit.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Chelsea find themselves short on numbers and it’s easy to see why Conte is an unhappy man at the moment.

Juventus maintain the left-back is not for sale and have rejected an approach already, insisting they won’t sell, even for a world-record for a defender. This looks likely to be another setback for Conte.

    PAPE CHEIKH DIOP

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will abandon his pursuit of Everton’s Ross Barkley and instead make Celta Vigo midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop his top midfield transfer target.

According to the Mirror, Spurs have grown tired of the protracted talks over a move for Barkley and Diop has emerged as a strong contender to be the club’s first signing of the summer.

    RATING: 7/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Diop is potential rather than the finished product but he is very much an archetypal Pochettino player.

With Everton said to be demanding £50million for Barkley, it makes sense for Spurs to be looking at targets elsewhere.
