    DIVOCK ORIGI

Liverpool striker Divock Origi could be given a way out of Anfield with Tottenham looking to sign the wantaway striker, according to the Daily Telegraph.

In a World Cup year, the Belgium international is likely to be limited to first-team action with the Reds and hopes to make a move before the transfer window shuts.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Origi’s path to the first team has only gotten longer with Daniel Sturridge back to full fitness and Dominic Solanke likely ahead of him in the pecking order, too.

However, Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the 22-year-old and would lean towards letting him leave on loan rather than permanently but much will depend on their own ability to get business done.

    KEREM DEMIRBAY

Jurgen Klopp could dip into the Bundesliga to sign Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay after the 24-year-old impressed the Liverpool boss during the two sides’ Champions League clash.

According to Bild, Demirbay caught Klopp’s attention during the two legs and was a youth player at Borussia Dortmund when the German was in charge.

    RATING: 5/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

No surprise to see Demirbay linked after he and Klopp shared a chat at the conclusion of the second-leg tie at Anfield.

He was impressive and clearly Hoffenheim’s creative hub but it seems like putting two and two together rather than a solid rumour.

    CHRIS SMALLING

Leicester City are plotting a late move for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling, reports the Daily Mirror.

Smalling’s first-team opportunities are becoming limited at Old Trafford and Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare wants to capitlise on that to add more experience to his defence.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Given United’s defensive injury crisis last season it’s hard to see Jose Mourinho being completely comfortable with letting Smalling go but with a bolstered backline thanks to the signing of Victor Lindelof, keeping someone of his class away from the first team would be difficult to manage.
