  • A change of venues for the popular tournament.

The next chapter of the Huawei Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup’s rich history, to take place between October 31 and November 4, will be written at a brand new, state-of-the-art venue in Marasi Business Bay which is now close to completion.

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council, the tournament will be the first staged in this up-and-coming area of Dubai and will see eight of the world’s best nations strut their stuff in an enviable location that will feature, once again, a top-class stadium as well as excellent transport links.

Not only will free shuttle buses operate from the Business Bay Metro Station, the stadium is also served by nearby bus stops at Clover Bay Tower and The Binary Tower, while the new facility includes ample parking.

This is the seventh edition of what is always a hugely popular event with next week’s tournament set to see crowds flock once again to witness the best players and teams that the sport has to offer.

Entry to the event is free and will see four thrilling matches every day, as well as plenty of fan zones dotted around the stadium.

Joan Cusco, Beach Soccer Worldwide’s Executive Vice-president and CEO, said: “We have enjoyed five amazing years at the Dubai International Marine Club, but the time has come to move to another venue, and we are really excited to be going to Marasi Business Bay.

“Occupying a space in the heart of the city, close to one of Asia’s most iconic buildings – the Burj Khalifa – and the Dubai Mall, the new venue will add extra value to the event and it will also offer the fans better transport options.

“The stadium is a state-of-the art facility, as we have worked with Medialand to ensure we have a stadium that meets the standards that Dubai, its people and the level of the competition demand.

“In a place as high profile as Dubai, a top-notch stadium is a must.”
