  • With the pre-match talk between Manchester United and Liverpool dominated by Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez coming face to face for the first time since the racism incident, the drama unfolded at Old Trafford.

Suarez was banned for eight games with the striker maintaining his innocence and refused to apologise to Evra since the incident.

He clearly still holds a grudge and refused to shake hands with the Frenchman before kick-off. The full-back caught Suarez’s arm but the Uruguayan pulled it away from his grip.

It didn’t end there as United’s Rio Ferdinand refused to shake Suarez’s hand and striker Danny Welbeck barely extended his arm forward.

The Old Trafford faithful booed Suarez’s every touch, with the Reds travelling supporters doing the same for Evra in a hostile atmostphere at the stadium.

Surely enough, there was a reported bust-up in the tunnel between a few players, stewards and police after the half-time whistle.
