  • Angling for an exit: Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been given the green light by Real Madrid to seek a move away from the Bernabeu, according to Yahoo Sports.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are the two obvious destinations for the Portuguese superstar with the overall financial package to secure the 32-year-old limiting interested parties.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner and current FIFA World Player of the Year has a €1billion release clause but reports have suggested he will negotiate a compromised transfer fee with Madrid in the region of €100million.

The ambitious Parisians have long been registered with a strong interest with former club United perpetually linked with bringing the forward back to Old Trafford.

The reports says Ronaldo’s relationship with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has deteriorated after promises of improved financial terms were broken.

His basic salary has been surpassed by both Lionel Messi and Neymar, and the slow progress over new terms has sparked talk of a potential exit.

However, an online poll carried out by Spanish newspaper AS last week, revealed that 67.5 percent of people do not want Ronaldo to remain at the Bernabeu.

The Portugal skipper only signed his current five-year contract – which runs until 2021 – in November 2016 and has struggled for form this season scoring just four times in La Liga.
