  • Pole position: Leo Lima's goal was vital to the side's chances of progression.

Leo Lima grabbed a valuable away goal from the penalty spot as Al Nasr came from behind to claim a 1-1 GCC Club Cup semi-final, first-leg draw at Oman’s Al Nahda.

Captain Lima, 32, shot low into the bottom-left corner on the hour via the goalkeeper’s fingertips to level after Habib Al Fardan was bundled over in the box.

Ivan Jovanovic’s men had fallen behind midway through the first half at Nizwa Sports Complex when goalkeeper Ahmed Shambih palmed a stinging Mohamed Ablaye Gaye cross onto the head of the grateful Anwar Al Hinai.

Nasr should have taken a firm grip of the tie after their equaliser, but Ibrahima Toure  nodded two excellent chances wide.

This lack of ruthlessness was almost punished at the death, Shambih making up for his earlier mistake with a solid save from the on-rushing Mohammed Al Sheiba’s header.

The teams meet again for the second leg at Al Maktoum Stadium on May 14.
