  • Centre of attention: Mohanad Salem (r) challenges for the ball with Manchester City's Samir Nasri.

Mohanad Salem has travelled to Italy to join up with his Al Ain team-mates despite being subject to offers from Al Jazira and Bani Yas.

The 29-year-old defender had stayed behind in the UAE at the weekend as the club continued negotiations with interested clubs.

The Boss team supervisor Mohammed Obeid Hammad said at the time that the UAE international would make the trip to Montecantini if no deal could be agreed.

Negotiations are, however, not completely dead in the water despite the fact Salem has made his way to Europe.

Joining him on board were brothers Khalid and Mohamed Abdulrahman, after signing three-year contract extensions. Loan signing Miroslav Stoch is yet to meet up with his new team-mates in Tuscany.

Meanwhile, in Dubai, Al Nasr have distanced themselves from reports they have made a £5 million (Dh25m) offer for Cameroon international striker Pierre Webo.

The 32-year-old currently plays for Turkish giants Fenerbahce, scoring nine goals in 26 matches for them last season.

He also played a bit-part role during the Indomitable Lions’ shambolic run at this summer’s World Cup.
