  • Lanzini has been in good form at West Ham.

Al Jazira received both expected and unexpected exit news on Monday after West Ham restated their desire to sign playmaker Manuel Lanzini and key defender Abdullah Mousa rocked the crisis club further by repeating his wish to leave.

Lanzini, 22, has excelled on loan in the Premier League this term and his fine performances have seen him linked to Liverpool.

But Hammers joint-chairman David Sullivan reacted to these reports by reiterating the permanent clause in the deal signed by the Argentine, who arrived in the Arabian Gulf League from River Plate for $10 million in August 2014.

“I know there have been some reports in the media over the weekend surrounding the future of Manuel Lanzini,” he said. “We have an unbreakable option with both Lanzini and his club, so any other team’s interest is irrelevant.

“Manuel has been a fantastic signing for the club and we all hope he can maintain this superb run of form for the rest of the season.”

Lanzini has scored four goals and registered one assist in 10 games for the London club. He was ditched from Jazira by returning boss Abel Braga after a debut campaign which contained three strikes and eight assists in 24 top-flight matches.

Jazira are enduring a miserable 2015-16 without him, sitting 10th in the AGL and staring at a near-certain group-stage exit from the Arabian Gulf Cup.

The surprise for them last night came when UAE left-back Mousa insisted on Twitter (above) he would not return to training and demanded a winter-transfer-market move.

Mousa, 28, caused uproar in July when he declared he felt disrespected in a row with senior management after he believed promises made to him in a contract signed until 2019 were broken.

The former Al Nasr and Al Ain man revisited this situation, when he tweeted: “The club has not fulfilled its promise for six years to Abdullah Mousa. I will refrain from exercises with Al Jazira and wait for my departure in January.”

Jazira will be looking to avoid extending their winless run to two months when they host Fujairah in the AG Cup tonight.
