  • Dani Alves has made fun of suggestions that he is seeking a move back to Barcelona after clearing up his thoughts on social media.

Alves, who left Catalonia for Juventus in 2016 before moving to Paris Saint-Germain last summer, had told Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo that he’d return to Barca ‘tomorrow if they called me’.

However, the Brazilian insists the love story at the club where he won 23 trophies with is over –  claiming that his comments only show how fond he is of the Blaugrana.

“Me, going back to Barcelona? Calm down my people,” he posted on Instagram.

“I know they miss me, I know that living without the ‘Good Crazy’ is difficult, I know that AS, MARCA and the Madrid dailies miss me too.

“Our story was very nice, very durable but speaking in football terms, it’s already finished.

“When I said that Barcelona is my home and I would return tomorrow, it was a simple demonstration of the love I have for this club.

“Our chapter in that area is for history.

“I am very happy where I am and I have a great challenge there along with people who believe in the ability to change the things I have.

“Ahhhh I just remembered, let’s go Barcelona.”
