  • Coutinho helped settle the tie against Real Sociedad.

Andres Iniesta ended his Barcelona career on a winning note after Coutinho struck the only goal of the game to give the Spanish champions a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday night.

All eyes were on Iniesta as he donned the famous jersey for the final time and although he could not get on the scoresheet, the Spanish maestro showed moments of brilliance at the Nou Camp before coming off to a standing ovation after 80 minutes.

The result was Barca’s 28th victory of the La Liga season and ensured they end the campaign on 93 points.

Here are how the players fared:

Marc-Andre ter Stegen – 6: Called into action twice early on in the first half but was fairly quiet for the rest of the game.

Nelson Semedo – 6: A solid performance by Semedo, who made things difficult for Sociedad attackers.

Yerry Mina – 7: Started the match brightly and made a vital interception to keep the score level at 0-0. Blocked any chances that came his way.

Gerard Pique – 6: Was caught out at times in the early stages of the match but gradually found his game. Should have doubled the lead after being unmarked during a corner.

Jordi Alba – 6: A strong performance by the Spanish full-back. Showed why he’s an important member by being on the top of his game defensively.

Philippe Coutinho – 8: Only played 66 minutes but the Brazilian kept Sociedad’s defence busy. Showed why Barca were so keen to bring him in by scoring a sensational 25-yard goal.

Sergio Busquets – 7: Didn’t get many chances his way but hardly put a foot wrong.

Ivan Rakitic – 7: A strong display by the Croatian midfielder and unlucky not to get on the scoresheet after his thumping header went wide in the first-half.

Andres Iniesta – 8: Rose to the occasion on his farewell by dictating play in the middle of the park. Showed his brilliance by beating his markers and the only thing missing was a goal. Substituted to an emotional applause from the spectators on 80 minutes.

Ousmane Dembele – 7: Showed his skill early on and was a threat on the right wing. Surprisingly, was replaced early in the second-half.

Luis Suarez – 7: Had a fairly quiet first-half by his own standards but was a different player in the second. Set up Coutinho’s strike and linked up well with Messi.

    SUBSTITUTES:

Lionel Messi – 7:  Came off the bench and with his presence, Barcelona were far more dangerous going forward.
