12:32am – Messi one of the most experienced players in our World Cup XI

Our man Brendon Netto put together a World Cup XI of players with more than 100 caps and unsurprisingly, Barcelona star Lionel Messi made the list.

With 124 appearances to his name, the Argentina legend has been a prominent figure on the grand stage, but has yet to capture the elusive trophy.

See who else made our World Cup XI here.

10:32pm – Dembele would love to link up with Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann could well be plying his trade at Camp Nou next season and Ousmane Dembele would love for it to happen.

Watch Dembele discuss what it would mean to him if the Frenchman joins Barcelona.

7:30pm – Several Barcelona players essential to Spain’s World Cup hopes

It’s no surprise multiple Barcelona players will feature on Spain’s World Cup side, including Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Andres Iniesta.

Barcelona’s presence will be unmistakable in La Roja’s defence and midfield and the impact of the foursome could determine how far Spain go in Russia.

11:00am – Dembele determined to prove himself

Ousmane Dembele is determined to prove himself after a mixed first season at the Camp Nou.

A thigh muscle rupture curtailed his progress for the first half of the campaign, just weeks after his €147 million move from Borussia Dortmund, and a similar muscle injury ruled him out of action for three weeks in January.

Since returning to full fitness, the 20-year-old has struggled to break into Ernesto Valverde’s starting XI, making 14 starts in his 23 matches this term.

Speaking to Marca, he said: “It has been a difficult season, with many injuries, but with everything that has happened I continue to have confidence and everyone at Barcelona trusts me.”

“I’m not in my best form, but little by little, it’s coming back. I still have to work on my cardio because I get tired very quickly. At Barcelona, I have a better lifestyle. At Dortmund, I didn’t have a great lifestyle and I didn’t get injured, so it’s not that.

“I have never doubted myself and although it is true that there have been complicated moments, I’m going to come back even stronger and I’m going to show my quality in Barcelona.”

Atleti hitman: Antoine Griezmann.

The Atletico Madrid hitman has been widely tipped to sign for Blaugrana this summer and is expected to make a decision on his future imminently.
