Sergi Roberto has become a mainstay in Ernesto Valverde's side.

Barcelona right-back Sergi Roberto hopes that mentor Luis Enrique’s ascension to the Spain national side will lead to a recall.

Roberto, 26, was snubbed from the World Cup 2018 squad by Julen Lopetegui. But the 51-year-old was dismissed on the eve of the tournament after his shock move to Real Madrid, leading to ex-Barca boss Enrique taking over last month.

“Luis Enrique was a very important figure for me,” said Roberto.
