14:00 – Pogba would be welcome at Barcelona, says Suarez
Luis Suarez insists Paul Pogba would be welcome at Barcelona as the midfielder continues to be linked with an exit from Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old’s relationship with manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be fractious, with the Frenchman open to a move away from a Red Devils side struggling for form early in the season.
“Pogba is an elite player who has won everything and we always want to have the best,” Suarez told RAC1 on Tuesday.
10:00 – Barcelona step up interest in De Jong
Barcelona are stepping up attempts to secure the signing of Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, reports Mundo Deportivo.
The 21-year-old is set to stay with Ajax for the rest of the season, but the Catalan giants are wary of growing interest from clubs such as Tottenham and PSG.
The Dutch midfielder started 25 times for the Eredivisie side last term, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process. Ernesto Valverde is reportedly keen to sign De Jong as he looks to bolster his midfield options.
It is believed a bid of as much as €60 million may be enough to get the deal over the line.
