Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has hailed his current Spain squad as possessing “the best behaviour and best attitude” he has seen as a coach.

Enrique, 48, became the latest La Roja tactician in the wake of World Cup 2018. His previous posting had been a trophy-laden spell at Barca from 2014-17.

The ex-Spain midfielder has been blown away by the approach of his latest charges ahead of Saturday’s clash with England.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set to benefit from Germany head coach Joachim Low’s desire to experiment in Sunday’s friendly against Peru.

An experienced Die Mannschaft side played out an entertaining goalless draw with France when the inaugural Nations League kicked off on Thursday. A non-competitive run-out against South American opposition at Rhein-Neckar Arena presents an opportunity to switch things up and test other options from a nation who shamefully exited World Cup 2018 as holders in the group stage.

Ter Stegen, 26, has understudied Manuel Neuer since the Bayern Munich shot stopper’s return to full fitness in June.

“I have the possibility to make six changes tomorrow and I will exhaust that option given all the new players we have,” said Low. “Nico Schulz and Julian Brandt will definitely play.

“Ter Stegen will start from the beginning.”

Ter Stegen has earned 20 caps for Germany.

Barcelona’s hijacking of Roma’s summer swoop for Brazilian forward Malcom has reportedly forced them to move quickly and head off interest in Italy’s Domenico Berardi.

Berardi, 24, has scored an impressive 60 goals in 182 Serie A run-outs for Sassuolo. Such form has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with both aforementioned sides keen admirers.

SPORT have stated that painful memories of the former’s actions in July to derail the latter’s transfer of Bordeaux’s Malcom remain. To ensure Roma get their man this time, director of football Monchi has opened informal discussions with Berardi’s advisers.

Berardi has one cap for the Azzurri and was an unused substitute during Friday’s 1-1 draw with Poland in the Nations League.
