14:00 – Barcelona name team for Leganes clash

Barcelona will be hoping to extend their grip on the top of La Liga on Wednesday evening when they face bottom side Leganes (10pm kick-off UAE time).

The Madrid-based minnows have lost four of out their opening five league fixtures while Blaugrana are top on goal difference ahead of eternal rivals Real Madrid, with both sides notching 13 points so far.

Ernesto Valverde has a full squad at his disposal for the match at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

11:00 – Messi should have been named ‘The Best’

He may not have been present at this week’s ‘The Best’ FIFA awards in London, but Lionel Messi should have still walked away with the men’s player of the 2017-18 season gong.

That’s the view of Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.

On the night, Real Madrid schemer Luka Modric scooped the top prize, beating the likes of Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah.

But, despite that, the Argentina icon’s coach is backing his man to the hilt.
