  • Cristiano Ronaldo's injury looks to have healed quickly.

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training ahead of schedule for Real Madrid, easing any lingering concerns over his fitness for the Champions League final on May 26.

Ronaldo was forced off with an ankle sprain at half-time during last weekend’s El Clasico, having scored Madrid’s equaliser against Barcelona, and there were worries over the severity of the injury.

However, the club has insisted throughout that he would be fit for Madrid’s clash against Liverpool, where Los Blancos will be aiming to win an historic third straight Champions League title.

The forward duly confirmed his return on social media on Saturday.

Ronaldo will likely miss Saturday’s game against Celta Vigo before returning for the final La Liga game of the season against Villarreal.

    Back on track 👌👋💪
