  • Coaches: Pochettino and Klopp.

Saturday lunchtime sees Tottenham and Liverpool meet in what should prove to be a top of the table 2016-17 Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.

Both sides have impressed over the past year under two of the most highly rated young managers in world football.

What are the major talking points ahead of the fixture? Sport360 takes a look.

    Who can impress their press?

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has employed a physical style of football which forces opponents into making mistakes – which in all honesty, won’t require much pressure against this Liverpool backline.

Similarly, in Jurgen Klopp’s first game as Liverpool boss in this clash last October, the German’s high-pressure game matched Spurs so today’s encounter will come down to who makes the fewest errors in possession.

Pochettino is still searching for his first win against the Reds as a manager but given the visitor’s imbalance, must fancy his side’s chances.

    Janssen and Kane combination

Despite failing to find the net for his new club, Vincent Janssen has shown there’s plenty for Spurs’ fans to be excited about.

Against a leaky Liverpool defence, last season’s top scorer in the Eredivisie will surely fancy his chance to get off the mark, as will Harry Kane despite operating in a deeper role.

The pair have already struck up a promising partnership and both carry an obvious goal threat.

Crucially for Pochettino, they both work hard meaning their movement will create opportunities for each other and their team-mates.

    Klopp’s injury headache

Divock Origi, Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho are all doubts meaning the Reds’ start to the season has already been hallmarked by injuries.

The potential loss of the Brazilian is a concern given that his importance to this team is nothing short of vital. He’s started the season off in superb form, scoring twice against Arsenal while Can has been Liverpol’s engine in midfield.

Although Klopp’s first XI is still strong despite the potential absences, it leaves little options from the bench.

Can Spurs hold off the Reds’ attack?

It was just Burton Albion, but Liverpool’s forward line was firing on all thrusters in midweek to show they’re over the blip at Burnley.

Much of that added attacking impetus owes to Sadio Mane’s welcome return from injury and his lightening change of pace is sure to threaten one of the best centre-back pairings in the league of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.

The visitors are a danger from every area of the pitch, with the ability to smother Spurs if given the opportunity. Spurs’ full-backs can be quite so look for Liverpool to counter through the channels.
