Pep Guardiola dropping a Fantasy Premier League favourite in Sergio Aguero has been a real game-changer.

When fit, having the Manchester City striker in your team used to be a no-brainer but with the Argentine dropped in midweek against Barcelona as well, there’s plenty of uncertainty about his place in the side.

Keeping that in mind, here’s a look at the best picks ahead of this round of fixtures.

But first, a shout out to these tactical geniuses who top our Sport360 fans league going into this week!

    WHO TO PICK AS CAPTAIN

Alexis Sanchez (11.3m) was the pick last week and although he didn’t score, he bagged an assist to justify handing him the armband. He’s a decent shout to retain it this week as well, especially after his sumptuous chipped finish against Ludogrets in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, team-mates Mesut Ozil (9.5m) and Theo Walcott (7.9m) will no doubt be among the contenders for the armband as well.

However, with the Arsenal men being the popular picks, it’s worth backing Dimitri Payet (9.4m) instead. The Frenchman will be a reasonably popular option as well but West Ham United’s poor form coupled with Arsenal’s recent performances could lead plenty of managers to go with a Gunner.

With a struggling Sunderland side making the trip to the London Stadium though, Payet could be set for a big week. The midfielder made his first start only in Gameweek four but has already created 22 chances. Sunderland’s porous defence will see him create a few more on Saturday.

    THREE FRONT MEN TO BACK

    ROMELU LUKAKU (Everton – 9.5m)

Everton are sixth in the Premier League and that’s largely down to Lukaku’s form in front of goal. He’s on a hot streak as well, scoring six goals in five games.

    DIEGO COSTA (Chelsea – 10.2m)

Despite the return of Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Costa is still likely to get on the score sheet against Manchester United. The striker has only failed to score in two games so far this season and compensated with an assist in one of them. He seems to eek out a goal in even the tightest contests.

SERGIO AGUERO (Manchester City – 13.1m)

With so much being said about his future at City, expect Guardiola to drown out the noise by starting the Argentine against Southampton. Even if he doesn’t fit perfectly into the Spaniard’s tactical set-up, his goal-scoring record speaks for itself and Guardiola will give him an opportunity to prove himself.
