  • The Premier League can be a tough place to be for dribblers and players who like to take on defenders.

Tackles come from all corners and the league is renowned as one of the most physical in the world. Inevitably, some times players get it a bit wrong, with some even keen to leave their mark on particularly tricky opposition.

And our friends at WhoScored.com have pulled out an interesting stat that tells us about which Premier League players have been fouled the most in the 2016-17 season so far.

Leading that list is Chelsea winger Eden Hazard. His pace and dribbling can leave defenders in tatters, over-committing and being left with the only option to foul the Belgian whether intentional or not.

As you can see from the tweet below, he has been fouled an incredible 62 times already this season.

Second on the list is Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha with 58 fouls. Third on the list is another Chelsea man, Diego Costa, who has been fouled 52 times.

Fourth and fifth on the list are Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Tottenham’s Danny Rose with 49 and 47 fouls committed on them respectively.

We hope they all wear extra-thick shin-pads.
