  • Sterling was on fire at Dean Court.

Raheem Sterling has enjoyed a resurgence under Pep Guardiola after initially struggling at Manchester City following his move in 2015.

The young winger has been talked up by the Spaniard as a player who could lead the Etihad side’s attack for years to come.

When Sterling plays like he did against Bournemouth on Monday night, it’s easy to see why Guardiola places so much faith in him. WhoScored rating Sterling as their man of the match for the game after another starring display.

Perhaps it’s no surprise that the 22-year-old hit top form against Bournemouth. The Cherries have been on the receiving end of some of Sterling’s best Premier League displays, with the former Liverpool man having scored more against Eddie Howe’s men than against any other team.

Liverpool and Arsenal have come unstuck at the Vitality Stadium this season, but thanks to Sterling, City avoided that fate and moved to second place in the Premier League, eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
