The Double Gameweek in round 34 did not go as planned with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of action and others failing to start both fixtures.

There’s certainly some ground to make up and picking the right players for Gameweek 35 is the way to do it.

This week’s column tells you why you should captain Harry Kane and picks out three others who could serve you well moving forward.

But first, here’s a look at the tactical geniuses who make up the top five in our fans league this week.

    WHO TO PICK AS CAPTAIN

Marcus Rashford [6.6m] was our captain pick in Gameweek 34 and in all honesty, Jose Mourinho’s rotation spelled disaster for us.

The youngster was a late substitute against Burnley, where he was expected to pick up a few points, and then completely snuffed out away to Manchester City.

This week, we’re backing Harry Kane [11.6m] not in spite of the North London derby but because of it.

The striker is Tottenham through-and-through and is usually amped-up for this fixture. He’s only played four North London derbies so far but has managed five goals, equalling the tallies of Thierry Henry, Gareth Bale and Robin van Persie.

He’s in good form as well, bagging a goal and two assists since making his first start back from injury in Gameweek 33.

    THREE TOP PICKS

There is a Double Gameweek coming up in round 36 with Arsenal and Southampton benefiting so it’s worth keeping in mind.

However, there’s no need to flood your team with players from both sides as the fixtures aren’t exactly kind.

    ALEXIS SANCHEZ – ARSENAL (11.5M)

One Arsenal player certainly worth picking up is Sanchez. He’s been a bit patchy of late and has been shunned to the left flank again as Olivier Giroud takes up a central position. You can never keep the Chilean quiet for too long though and there’s every chance he’ll contribute in the derby this Sunday.

He then has two DGWs back-to-back and you’d expect him to provide returns in at least two of those four fixtures. The games in Gameweek 37 look particularly tasty with Arsenal playing Stoke City away and Sunderland at home.

    MAYA YOSHIDA – SOUTHAMPTON (4.4M)

If you insist on having Southampton covered because of their consecutive DGWs as well, then their back-line does offer good value.

Ryan Bertrand (5.5m) is the most likely to score points in attack but does come at a price. Instead, it’s worth considering Yoshida who is a threat from set-pieces and could manage bonus points with his defensive contributions. Jack Stephens (4.1m) is a cheaper option as well.

    EDEN HAZARD – CHELSEA (10.4M)

The Belgian doesn’t enjoy a DGW in round 36 but does in 37 when Chelsea travel to West Brom and then entertain Watford at the Bridge. Hazard will have his work cut out for him this weekend at Goodison Park but does go into it in great form.

The winger has delivered returns in four of his last five outings, registering 39 points in that time. He managed a goal and scored two bonus points against Southampton last time out and takes on Middlesbrough at home next week.
