Pep Guardiola remains reluctant to discuss the possibility of signing Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez.
Responding to comments from Arsene Wenger that Sanchez is not for sale, Guardiola said “Sanchez is a player from Arsenal. If Arsene said that, it’s because he knows more than me.”
Manchester City had been rumoured to be the likeliest destination for Sanchez if the Chilean were to stay in the Premier League, but Wenger would always have been loath to sell to a domestic rival.
The Arsenal manager has also said the club is not under pressure to sell Sanchez, even if the player is entering the final year of his contract.
