  • Sergio Aguero equalled Manchester City‘s all-time goal-scoring record as the Premier League leaders wore down Burnley to secure a 3-0 victory on Saturday.

City had to work hard for openings, but made the game safe with two quick goals inside the final 20 minutes from Nicolas Otamendi and Leroy Sane.

Pep Guardiola’s side are five points clear at the top of the Premier League, while their run of 11 successive wins in all competitions equals a club record.

Here’s our two good and two bad performances from the Etihad Stadium.

    TWO GOOD

    SERGIO AGUERO

The Argentine converted a first-half penalty to move level with Eric Brook as the club’s leading goalscorer.

The 29-year-old has now scored 177 goals, matching the achievement of Brook – who played for the club between 1928 and 1939.

Apart from his goal, Aguero always looked willing to take on possession before receiving a standing ovation when substituted after 75 minutes.

    LEROY SANE

Continues to be a menacing presence for Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring and assisting in three of his last four Premier League appearances.

His goal was a gem too. Kevin de Bruyne slipped a cleverly weighted ball behind the Burnley defensive line for the German to run on to and convert to seal victory.

The 20-year-old had earlier sent a pinpoint cross in for Nicolas Otamendi to head home City’s second.

    TWO BAD

    JEFF HENDRICK

The usually reliable Irishman failed to shine at the Etihad Stadium, with just 18 touches during his 73 minutes on the field.

Although he managed to wrestle himself into presentable attacking positions, he was unable to get free and secure possession.

The 25-year-old looked off the pace for large spells of the contest and failed to get involved in the action with Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones solid down the middle.

    SCOTT ARFIELD

Although the Burnley midfielder cannot be faulted for his side’s inability to force attacking breakthroughs, he failed to inspire the Clarets with just 24 touches.

One could argue that a portion of that is down to the dominance of Manchester City, but the Canadian looked disinterested around the middle and didn’t show any hunger when the away side needed one of their star men to step up.
