  • Ashley Young scored a brace to help Manchester United to a 4-2 win away to Watford in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Anthony Martial also scored to make it 3-0 at half-time before the hosts brought it back to 3-2 with goals from Troy Deeney from the spot and Doucoure.

However, Jesse Lingard‘s solo effort in the 86th minute secured the points for the visitors.

Here, we rate the United players.

    MANCHESTER UNITED

DAVID DE GEA: Didn’t have a save to make in the first half but was called into action in the second. Not much he could do about either goal though. 6

ANTONIO VALENCIA: Did well to keep Richarlison quite but didn’t offer too much in attack like he normally does. 6

VICTOR LINDELOF: His best game for United so far. Solid at the back, making some crucial interventions. 7

CHRIS SMALLING: Composed in defence and when under the cosh in the closing stages, made several clearances, 12 in total. 7

MARCOS ROJO: Had a decent game up until the point he gave away a needless penalty to let Watford back into it. 5

ASHLEY YOUNG: Took full advantage of the freedom of a wing-back role by playing high up the pitch. Two excellent strikes for his brace and tracked back whenever required. 9

NEMANJA MATIC: Had a poor start to the game with several loose touches and gave the ball away a few times. Recovered to an extent but didn’t look comfortable and seemed to limp off slightly in the 53rd minute. 5

PAUL POGBA: Excellent on the ball again and drove forward from midfield a couple of times impressively. One of those runs ended in winning the free-kick from which Young scored. 7

ANTHONY MARTIAL: Always threatening when running at defenders and took his chance with aplomb. 7

JESSE LINGARD: Wasn’t at his best and some of his passes didn’t come off while he should’ve scored from the rebound off Romelu Lukaku’s shot. He did get the assist for the opener though and scored a phenomenal solo goal to bury the tie. 7

ROMELU LUKAKU: He pulled off an excellent turn to create the chance for the first goal and played Martial in for the third but was wasteful in front of goal, squandering three big chances to score. 6
